KODI RAMA MURTHY COLLEGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION was established in 1991 as per G.O.Ms. No.155 Dated 19-04-1991 Education (Lib) Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of Uma General Technical and Medical Education Society founded by its Founder Late Sri R.SURYANARAYANA, an eminent Teacher.

Later it was revived by the Government of Andhra Pradesh In G.O.Rt. No.1129 Dated 18-10-2004 recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam Under the management of Uma General Technical and Medical Education Society under the guidance of its Secretary & Correspondent Sri R. CHANDRA SEKHAR RAO.

The institution offers D.P.Ed, B.P.Ed & M.P.Ed courses. The college campus is situated 8km from the railway station & Bus Station of Bobbili, a historical town in the Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh. This District has produced many sports personalities like KODI RAMA MURTHY, a renowned wrestler of International fame, MAHARAJ KUMAR VIJAYANAND (VIZZY), a famous international cricketer in whose name National Cricket Competitions are held in every year and the winners are presented “VIZZY” trophy in his honour and like others.

The college is situated in an area of about Acres 12 fenced all round with a main entrance.
The college was named after the renowned Wrestler KODI RAMA MURTHY with the objective of promoting sports and producing eminent Physical Education Teachers, sports persons and coaches in the field of Physical Education.

This college is permitted to conduct D.P.Ed, B.P.Ed, and M.P.Ed courses in Co-educational pattern. The college is affiliated to Andhra University and recognized by NCTE.

The College has its own play ground of about Acres 12 and other infrastructure, such as Administrative Building, Spacious Class Rooms, Library, Sports Psychology Lab, Anatomy and Physiology Lab, Educational Technology lab, and Health Education, Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Labs, Fitness Centre and well laid play field facilities for conducting major games and sports.

The college has well qualified and experienced teaching faculty in the field of Physical Education.The Administrative Staff of the College are well experienced.

The Secretary & Correspondent, Mr.R.Chandra Sekhara Rao, an experienced administrator is himself overseeing the functioning of the Kodi Rama Murthy College of Physical Education under his able leadership with a vision to bring laurels to the Institution by producing excellent Physical Education Teachers, sports persons and coaches in the field of Physical Education.
